Pretty little Becky came to Charles River Alleycats in early February 2008. This sweet young girl was in need of a home. And not just any home would do. Becky tested FIV+, which can negatively impact a kitty’s adoption chances. She was posted on Petfinder and Craigslist, with the hope that someone who is not afraid of her FIV+ status would come along. FIV+ cats can have healthy, normal lives with proper care and indoor only lifestyle.
As luck would have it, a super family was looking for an FIV+ kitten. They had adopted a young male FIV+ kitten from Kitty Connection and were seeking a companion for him. And so only one week after entering foster care, Becky was adopted and off to meet Ralph, her new kitty roommate. Ralph and Becky hit it off and have become best friends.
Becky’s adopter writes:
She and Ralph are always together, and they often look like they're plotting something. Sometimes they are. Recently Ralph freed a number of bags of Becky's favorite cat treats from a closed cabinet. He doesn't even like those treats, but he adores his little Becky (and he still tries to stuff her ear in his mouth). Ralph dotes on Becky - any little meow and he comes running over to check on her.
