Katerina came to Charles River Alleycats after a Boston shelter group took in a litter of kittens and found a couple of them to be tough to socialize. This explains why she has an "ear tip"; a sign of a feral kitty from outside that may need to be returned to the area trapped. But, they asked CRA to take her in and see if Katy was adoptable. She settled right into foster care, but was a little shy. She spent some time getting loved and snuggled and was nearly ready for adoption.
Adopter Renee had previously been approved for a kitten, but CRA did not have a good fit for their family, which includes “Caesar”, a very shy rescue cat they had adopted. Renee came to visit the little girl in her foster home. Renee and her husband held Katy and snuggled with her and she bonded with them right away – like magic! She wouldn't stop purring! She was so comfortable and giving lots of love to them. It was an instant match.
"Cloe" (her new name) went home to work her magic with Caesar. She wasn't following any of this "time to adjust" thing – she just started right in. She loved her new home. Within a week, she was constantly with Caesar and he learned to play and be nice to the little girl. Within a couple of weeks, he began to come out of his shell. He wound up being the one to follow her around and started doing everything she was doing. Now, he comes up on the bed and sleeps with his new best friend and his family. They couldn't be happier!
