"Daisy" and "Petunia" were two tiny kittens when they were brought into our care in early May of 2011. They were found abandoned at a firehouse in Somerville at 4 weeks of age.

What little sweethearts they were. They thrived in foster care and went up for adoption. Charles River Alleycats participated in an MSPCA Adoption Event held in July and little Daisy and Petunia made their appearance! They were quite the success at the event.

Cherelle made her way to the adoption event in hopes of finding 2 kittens to love forever. She quickly spotted these two, but Daisy was a little timid in the new situation and was holding back her excitement. Cherelle saw through her little ways and immediately fell for them. Although Cherelle hadn't yet made her home kitten ready, she knew she couldn't pass on these two darlings. She grabbed up a litterpan and litter, food, and toys and the two newest members of her family and off she went.

Cherelle states:

When I brought Daisy (now Zena), gray and white, and Petunia (now Zaria), brown tabby, home, Zaria immediately warmed up to me. Zena took a little longer but soon followed. Since then, they've been doing really well. Zaria is a real cuddlebug, always headbutting me and climbing on my lap. Zena is more mellow, wanting attention on her terms but still cuddly. They greet me at the door when I get home from work with meows. They love to cuddle with me, and follow me to every room. They are very friendly with my guests, coming up to them wanting to be loved (I'll have to thank their foster mom for making them very social kitties). They are growing like weeds; I almost don't remember how small they were when I got them. I bought them a cat tree a few weeks ago to celebrate our two months of being together and they love it! I'm really glad I made the trip to the Kitty Adopt-a-thon and chose them as my kitties (even though they ignored me the whole time). I always tell my friends it was the best decision I ever made. They bring so much calm, peace, and joy to my life and I am very grateful for them.

Of course, as Charles River Alleycats always says: "Another Happy Ending!"
