Dory was a 12 week old kitten who was surrendered to the MSPCA as a shy kitten. The MSPCA contacted CRA because she needed one-on-one attention to come out of her shell. She was in foster care with us for about a month when she was posted for adoption. She absolutely LOVED other cats and it was very important that she be adopted to a home with another young kitty to play with and love!

From Laura, her new owner:

Sweet Dory has brought so much happiness to our family and is the nicest little cat - she loves attention and is forever purring, and thriving in her new space. As I searched for a companion for our other cat, Leo, I found Dory’s photograph with her large round, sweet beautiful eyes, and somehow I knew she was the one. She is very tiny, but growing everyday now, and has beautiful swirled colors of silver, peach, and antique white. Her coat of fur is as soft as cotton. She is a wonderful addition to our family, and the perfect companion for Leo. They are inseparable and so happy together.

Leo was about 8 months old when I brought Dory home to meet him. As I carried her in the house, he came right over to see what I brought him. I opened the cat carrier, she jumped right out, startled Leo for a minute, but then he immediately took to her, as she did him. There was absolutely no awkward adjustment period. From the first day we had her, she didn’t hide. Instead, she purred, and she and Leo slept in their cat bed, head to head, with their arms around each other. She now follows him everywhere, and they are always together. They play together, they watch the wildlife out the windows together, he cleans her and takes care of her, they sleep together, they eat together, and most importantly, they LOVE each other and always seem happy to have a friend. They are the perfect companions, and our family of four just adores them. They are so much fun.

On Dory’s first day home, my two young sons came home from school and I surprised them with her. I have never seen such big smiles until that moment. The cats love the attention from the kids, and the kids enjoy playing laser tag with the cats and are trying to teach them new tricks all the time.

We feel very blessed to have two such exceptional cats as part of our family. Thank You Charles River Alleycats!
