Ruby came to Charles River Alleycats late in November. She was found by a volunteer out on her own in Malden. She was brought to the Vet and found to be so friendly. We moved her into foster care to await adoption.

Ruby is a total gem! Her foster family has three cats and Ruby fit right in. She was so easy going, so loving, and so gentle and fun. Her favorite thing to do was sit next to her foster mom at the computer while she worked from home every day. Ruby was content to be near, get snuggles, and hang out. Her foster mom easily fell for her, as did the resident young male tabby!

Along came Barbara who had recently lost a beloved kitty she had loved for 8 years who passed due to cancer. She was looking for a new young kitty to bring her joy and love. Barbara's daughter met Ruby and like everyone else, was smitten with her. She took Ruby to meet her mom who quickly became attached to her. Ruby settled right in.

Barbara has now had Ruby for a few weeks and when asked how she was doing replied:

It's a bit difficult to send you this because Ruby is following the moving arrow with her paws as I type. She particularly likes playing Solitaire! Ruby is the new light of my life. She came into my life the day before Christmas through my daughter, Susan. I had recently lost Miss Molly, also a rescue cat, after nine wonderful years as her "mom". Ruby is, to my untrained eye, a calico/tabby mix, six months old, about six pounds of delightful fun. She spends much of the day playing with any toy I give her, and some she discovers herself. When she wears herself out, she retires to her new pink and white bed, which is by a sunny window, and falls asleep, looking like the angel she is. And then, at night, when I settle down in front of the television, she curls up in my lap, looks up at me, and I swear she gives me the sweetest smile, even though my friends tell me cats do not smile. I know better. My Ruby, my precious Ruby, smiles!

Another wonderful HAPPY TAIL from Charles River Alleycats! Meow...
