Charles River Alleycats Awarded Grant from
“I’m Animal Friendly” License Plate Funds
Charles River Alleycats (CRA) is happy to announce the receipt of a grant from the Massachusetts Animal Coalition (MAC) “I’m Animal Friendly” license plate program. Funds will be used towards Charles River Alleycats’ low-cost spay and neuter services for friendly cats rescued from the street.
Kit Lilly, President of CRA said: “MAC has been a wonderful partner for Charles River Alleycats over the years and we look forward to being able to rescue more friendly cats from the streets as a result of MAC’s support”. The “I’m Animal Friendly” license plates are a program of the Massachusetts Animal Coalition. Funds are disbursed annually to organizations who demonstrate a need for and provide low-cost spay/neuter services.
About the Massachusetts Animal Coalition and the “I’m Animal Friendly” License Plate Program: Massachusetts Animal Coalition (MAC) is a statewide, non-profit organization comprised of animal professionals and individual volunteers dedicated to working together to decrease the number of homeless, neglected, displaced and abused animals in Massachusetts. MAC’s “I’m Animal Friendly” License Plate program helps fund spay and neuter programs across the state. Charles River Alleycats is a registered 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to humanely reducing the number of homeless and free-roaming cats in the Greater Boston Area. CRA’s priorities include trap-neuter-return (TNR) efforts for feral cats as well as rescuing homeless, friendly cats from the streets and placing them with partnering shelters for adoption. By focusing on humane solutions for street cats, CRA is able to have a direct impact on reducing the cat overpopulation problem around the Boston area.
